Charlotte Little for House District 68:
Earning Your Trust
I come from San Felipe Pueblo, surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. My father began his working career as a machinist and welder and in his 40’s, graduated with a master’s degree in counseling psychology. My mother was trained and worked as a practical nurse. When they began a family, she became a homemaker, and throughout our childhood, a surrogate mom to our cousins and friends.
My husband, Joseph Little, is an attorney and former judge. We have been married for three decades and are proud of our blended family, which includes three children and grandchildren.
Service has always been a core value in my family. My father and brothers served in the U.S. Army and Air Force, and one brother is a career police officer. Our family has also experienced profound loss. I lost one brother to a drunk driver and another to gun violence. These are experiences that deeply inform my commitment to public safety and accountability.
Over my career, I have owned a small business, served as a Tribal Administrator, and as an Administrative Officer with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. I have also served New Mexicans through leadership roles with New Mexico Voices for Children, Emerge New Mexico, and the San Felipe Pueblo Health Board.
In the Legislature, I am honored to serve on the House Government, Elections and Indian Affairs Committee and the House Appropriations and Finance Committee. One accomplishment I am especially proud of is helping pass interstate medical compacts for doctors and social workers, which expands access to healthcare and mental health services for families across New Mexico.
These experiences shape who I am and the values I bring to the House of Representatives. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the families of House District 68 and work every day to earn your trust.
Sincerely,
Charlotte Little
